Our Story

Clay Has a Way of Slowing You Down

Jaida's Clayworks started in 2019 when founder Elena Vasquez left her architecture career to pursue the thing that always grounded her — working with clay. What began as a backyard kiln and a handful of curious friends grew into Cedar Park's most welcoming ceramics community.

With an MFA in Ceramics and over fifteen years of studio practice, Elena built a space where beginners feel comfortable getting their hands dirty and experienced potters find room to push their craft. Our 3,200 sq ft Cedar Park studio has 12 wheels, two electric kilns, a gas reduction kiln, and enough shelf space for everyone.

We believe pottery isn't about perfection — it's about presence. Every wobble in a rim, every unexpected glaze drip tells the story of the hands that made it.

Kind Words

What Our Students Say

I have been attending classes with Jaida for nearly a year now and it’s become one of the highlights of my week. Jaida is a wonderful patient teacher and manages to find that balance between encouraging creativity while also pushing her students to constantly improve at their own pace. The classes are very casual, with people from all walks of life. If you are looking to embrace your creative side, then this is an excellent way to do so.

Kids Summer Camp

Ms. Jaida’s classes are always led with excellence and professionalism, while also providing a relaxing and friendly environment for any wandering person seeking an outlet for their creative expressions. Thanks to her, I do not have to worry about purchasing my own dinnerware or mugs anymore. I can’t wait for the new location to be finished, up, and running. 😊🙂

Casual Weekly Classes since 2022

I take pottery classes with Jaida Simental in a small group with other adults. Jaida is a great, patient and insightful teacher. The studio is nice and spacious. Pottery turned out to be a very relaxing and mindful activity. I really enjoy the time I spend here. She has classes for kids too.

Casual Weekly Classes

My daughter takes pottery lessons with Jaida Simental here and she loves it. It's a really cool little studio and pottery has turned out to be a relaxing creative outlet for my daughter, who is often overwhelmed by school work.
